In great royal tradition, we were treated to not one, but TWO wedding dresses from Meghan today – the second gown coming out for the private evening reception at Frogmore House. We caught a glimpse of Meghan leaving with Harry in a Jaguar in her evening dress. For all the details on her ceremony dress, click here.
Meghan’s dress is by bespoke by Stella McCartney. The dress is a bespoke lily white high neck gown made of silk crepe. The Bride also wore shoes from Aquazzura made in silky satin, with nude mesh, with soles painted in baby blue. The shoes were bespoke, with Edgardo Osorio, the shoe designer, saying:
“It has been an incredible experience to have had the opportunity to design a bespoke shoe for Meghan’s wedding reception. I am deeply honoured to have been chosen for this special occasion and extremely pleased with the creation.”
Meghan wore a beautiful Stella McCartney dress for the evening engagement. Stella shared a sketch of the dress.
Here’s what Stella had to say about the look:
“I am so proud and honored to have been chosen by the Duchess of Sussex to make her evening gown and represent British design. It has truly been one of the most humbling moments of my career and I am so proud of all the team on this stunning sunny royal day.”
One of the first things we noticed was that Meghan was wearing a large aquamarine ring on her right hand – and quickly realized it was actually Princess Diana’s Aquamarine ring which must have been gifted to Meghan from Harry. It makes for a touching way to honour his mother and a beautiful piece of jewelry for Meghan to have in her new royal collection.
Diana’s Aquamarine ring, an emerald cut aquamarine flanked by small, solitaire diamonds and set in 24-carat yellow gold, was commissioned by the Princess from Asprey in 1997.
She also debuted a new pair of earrings, which are the matching pair to the bracelet she wore this morning by Cartier – the Reflection de Cartier earrings. The earrings are believed to be a wedding gift from Prince Charles to Meghan.
